This year, on October 31st, our SMP students held a trunk-or-treat for our younger Blue Gators! They all parked their cars in the junior parking lot and spent time decorating the trunks of their cars as themes that they had chosen, varying from things like Willy Wonka to Jungle! They had to be at school at 7:30 AM to line up the cars for the little trick-or-treaters. The event started right after the first period and ended around the end of the third. When the little kids arrived, they all were ecstatic! They had adorable little costumes and little bags to hold their candy in. They were grouped by grade and made their way down each row of cars to collect their treats. While the upper school students were handing out candy, Joe Falgout took it upon himself to make waffles in the concession stand for anyone who wanted one.
The Trunk-or-Treat turned out to be a HUGE success! Some little students even told their teachers, “This was the biggest surprise ever!” And “This was the best day ever!” Five cars were named in the Top Five Best Decorations. These cars were Willy Wonka with Camille Simon, Ryan Simon, and Linden Musso, Candy Land with Leah Franques, Sara Godley, and Ashlyn Porier, Unicorns with Mamie Mendell, Gabby Piasecki and Brianna Gayle, Dinosaurs with Miles Eldridge, Tré Bishop, and John Levin, and last but not least, Cookie Monster with Lauren Roth, Ella Grace Hebert, and Corinne Mendell. These students were awarded free dress on that Thursday. We could not have asked for a better start for this tradition and cannot wait for more to come!
