Girl’s Soccer Season Recap
The girl’s soccer team has had such a memorable season this year. They were ranked 12th in the state, and their season record was 6-7. A significant game this year was their game against Teurlings Catholic because Ascension, a Division 4 team, beat the Rebels 2-1, who were a Division 1 team. Another remarkable part of the season was Rebecca Vega breaking a school record with 37 goals.
When asking senior, Avery Leblanc, what her most memorable game was, she said, “The game against Academy of the Sacred Heart Heart because it was senior night, and Lily Franques got to score a goal.” When asking senior, Lily Franques, what the best part about this soccer season was, she said, “The season was awesome! I couldn’t imagine ending high school soccer with a better team.”
The girl’s soccer team made it through two rounds of the playoffs this year. The first playoff game was against Evangel Christian, and the Gators won by a landslide of 6-1. Their second round of playoffs was held in Slidell, New Orleans, against Pope John Paul. Unfortunately, the girls lost, but they gave a good fight, ending the game with a close score of 3-4. We are so proud of our girl’s soccer team, they had an amazing season filled with hard work, dedication, and success.
