Every month, the Acts of Random Kindness Club asks the students and the faculty nominate the students they think model the school’s motto of being “gentle, generous, truthful, kind, and brave.” Abbie Boland was chosen for the month of September as the Student of the Month, and Sara Wortman was chosen as the Student of the Month for October.
Abbie Boland is a ninth grader here at Ascension and has been a student here for six years now. She is very active in sports and clubs at Ascension. She is a member of the Beta club, FCA club, the SADD club, the ARK club and the chess club. She also plays volleyball, basketball and track for AES.
Abbie has two older brothers both in college who also attended AES. Abbie’s hobbies outside of school involve playing sports, traveling, watching LSU football and hanging out with friends.
“Being the student of the month was a shock, but I’m glad I had the honor because it helps me watch my mouth, actions, and thoughts more carefully throughout the day,” said Abbie.
Sara Wortman is a senior here at Ascension and has attended this school since Kindergarten. She was nominated by Coach Jill. She also is very active in sports and clubs at Ascension. She is a member of the BETA, National Honor Society, and SADD clubs and plays volleyball and soccer for the school.
