Homecoming Week across the country brings a form of excitement to almost every student. This Homecoming for Ascension Episcopal School will hopefully be the largest Homecoming yet.
,”I can’t believe it’s my last Homecoming Week,” said Senior Veronica Droulia. “I can’t wait to enjoy it one last time with the rest of the seniors. Hopefully it will be one to remember!”
This year at AES, the Homecoming game falls on Halloween, which gives the prefects, house representatives, and homecoming committee a new and innovative way to create dress up days, activities, and the homecoming dance theme.
This week at AES many students had the opportunity to input their opinions on dress days and the location of the Homecoming dance through an online survey.
Listed below is the dress day schedule for the week of Homecoming. During this week students have the opportunity to express their school spirit by dressing according to the daily theme. This is a great way for all students to get involved and not wear a uniform!
Monday- Pajama Day
Tuesday-Tacky Tuesday
Wednesday-Nerd vs. Jock
Thursday- Halloween/Character (dress as your favorite TV/movie character)
Friday- Spirit Day
Each day prefects, house representatives, and the Homecoming committee will put on a special activity involving houses. Tuesday the music students will host the Fourth Annual Homecoming concert. On Wednesday, students will be treated to a performance by Princeton University’s Katzenjammers, a co-ed a cappella group. Wednesday night will feature a Homecoming parade with the football team and Homecoming Court, along with a bonfire and s’mores! Friday, the entire SMP campus will travel downtown for an all-school pep rally (Grades 1-7) in which the Homecoming Court will be announced; a spirit competition will take place, and there will be many more fun games and activities!
So get ready for Homecoming Week, October 26-November 1 and make sure to come support your Blue Gator Football team against the Highland Bears on October 31 at The Swamp!
