As you may or may not know, October is upon us, and Halloween is just around the corner. It is the season of plastic pumpkins and horror movies, and to get in the spirit The Authored Ascension is holding its fourth annual Halloween Short Story Contest.

We’re looking for students, 8-12, to send in their best, freaky, scary, or just funny Halloween themed stories. Please email your stories to Ms. Fournet at [email protected] by October 27th at 10:20 am. 

Stories need to be 2-5 pages long, double spaced, and emailed as a PDF for submission. Please make sure you do not put your name on the story! Pseudonyms are encouraged (Another student’s name does not count as a pseudonym because it will confuse the judges). The winners will be announced on Friday, October 31st, and the top three stories will be published on The Authored Ascension.

The winners will receive a $25 gift card to Barnes and Nobel for first place, a $15 iTunes gift card for second, and a $10 gift card to Starbucks for third place.
