Each year one student is chosen from each course to represent the school at the Academic District Rally at UL.
This year, students competed on Saturday, Feb. 23 and did a fantastic job. Out of the 26 participants, 20 of them qualified for state rally, which will be held April 5 in Baton Rouge. Those who qualified are listed along with their course that they competed in.
In the science field, Emily Daly placed first in Biology II. Taylor Guidry placed second in Biology; Lauren Quibodeaux placed second in Chemistry; Connor Landry placed second in Physical Science, and Luke Butcher also placed second in Physics.
In the Math sector of the rally, Quinn Adams placed second in Pre-Calculus. Abbey Bako placed second jun Algebra II, Andre Guidry also placed second in Calculus, and in Geometry, Chloe Duval placed second.
In English, Samantha Sawvel placed first in English III. In English II, Jenna Partimbene placed second and in English IV, Amanda Rabalais also placed second.
In the Foreign Languages, Carson Sanders placed first in Spanish II and Ethan Laborde also placed first in Spanish III. Nicolas Ouellet placed second in French II along with Mercedes Alvarez in French III.
For Electives, Seema Morad placed first in Journalism I and Bennett Anderson also placed first in Principles of Business. Reagan Thompson placed second in Interpretive Reading and lastly, Emily Daly placed third in Photography.
