Thanksgiving break has passed, and now the only thing on the student’s minds is midterm exams and CHRISTMAS!!
The upper school has launched its first Christmas activities with the “Secret Santa Sign-up”. Each student who wants to participate needs to pay $5 to Mrs. Boland by Friday, Dec. 2.
With this $5, they will be given the name of another student who is also participating in the activity. They will be the “Secret Santa” for that student, and they are expected to give that student small gifts throughout the next couple of weeks.
The prefects are providing Christmas stockings for everyone participating. Each Secret Santa can put gifts in the stocking belonging to his/her buddy.
The game is called “Secret Santa” for a reason. Secret Santa identities should remain secret until the last day of the game, which is Friday, December 16.
On the last Friday, all those participating will gather for a pizza party lunch where they will receive their stocking from their Secret Buddy. Along with the pizza lunch, a “white elephant” or “dirty santa” Christmas exchange will go on. Each student should bring a small gift worth no more than $10 to use during the game.
Along with the Secret Santa activities, there are many other activities going on throughout the month of December.
Each Wednesday in the month of December, there will be $5 pay to dress. The money collected from these pay to dress Wednesdays will go towards buying gifts for students in the Youngsville area whose families cannot afford Christmas gifts. Also on Wednesdays the Cupcake Club will have bakesales to raise money for this cause.
In addition to raising money for the Youngsville families, Coach Johnson is also collecting toys for the annual “Toys for Tots” project.
