The Authored Ascension is hosting its first Halloween Story Contest.
All students in grades 8th-12th are encouraged to write a story in the horror genre or one with a Halloween theme. There is no limit to the imagination, but some examples for story topics include: a ghost story, your most memorable halloween experience, zombie stories, etc.
Stories must be two to five pages double-spaced. The due date for submitting the entries is Monday, October 24th at 3:40 p.m. All stories must be emailed to Ms. Fournet at [email protected] in a pdf or Word document format. Ms. Fournet will render the entries anonymous before the staff judges them.
The staff of The Authored Ascension will judge the stories, and the winners will be announced on Halloween Monday, October 31st. Prizes will be awarded to those placing 1st-3rd. The award for 1st Place will be a $25 gift card to Barnes & Noble; the second place award will be a $15 gift card to Best Buy, and the third place award is a $10 gift card to Starbucks.
Another great motivation for submitting a story is BONUS points! All English teachers will be giving bonus points to their students who participate.
