Genesis 2:2-3 says, “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.”
Today’s world is a busy one. We strive and push ourselves to the limit trying to be the best. We never take breaks, but God calls us to. God even needed rest. It says that He rested on the seventh day after creating all creation. If even God, our creator, needed rest, then we do, too. He calls us to rest on the Sabbath. We can do this by putting away our phones, taking time to do something we enjoy, spending time with God, and so much more. Take the time this week and give yourself just one day to rest and stop pushing yourself to the very brim, because we are not made to work non-stop.
