Instead of having Christmas Karaoke this year, we decided to have a Christmas Concert! All the students in music class took part by either singing or playing an instrument. There was a mix of songs, ranging from Christmas to rock, and we even had an instrumental one. Each time they sang a song, the Christmas spirit scale went up, getting us closer to saving Christmas from the Grinch. After we had almost restored everyone’s Christmas spirit, the Grinch showed up and took all the hard work we had done, making us start all over. While the show was going on, Leadership passed out hot chocolate for everyone to enjoy while watching! There was also a special performance from our new choir who sang, “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms. In the end, we were able to save Christmas and make the Grinch’s heart grow!

Hi guys!! I am Ava Cope, and I am a Junior this year. I have been at Ascension for 11 years now, and this is my second year in journalism! I’ve also been on Gator Jazz for four years, and I am the secretary this year. My favorite thing about Ascension is how everyone is so close together and the opportunities it brings. Outside of school, I love to hang out with my friends and dance competitively. I’m so excited to see what this year holds!!
