The Homecoming Court Tea:
On September 15th at 3 in the evening, the 2024 Homecoming Court went to the Fontenot’s house for the annual Homecoming Court Tea. The evening was filled with pictures of all of the girls in our formal dresses. Once we were done with pictures in our formal dresses, we had a teacup exchange. Each girl brought a teacup, wrapped, and we all put them in the middle for each of us to be surprised with whichever one we picked. It was so much fun and every girl brought such pretty teacups! After our exchange, we changed into the polos that were provided for us with jeans and matching boots. The pictures go into the Homecoming Game’s catalog so we took many pictures to make sure there were good ones to select from! It was such a fun bonding experience for the girls and a great way for us to get excited for Homecoming Week!
Homecoming Week:
Tuesday: River Ranch Welcome
On Tuesday morning, the Homecoming Court and Senior football players had the opportunity to greet the Little Red School Students on Pajama Day of Homecoming week. We all met together at Samantha Matt’s house before so we could all ride together to the campus. Once we arrived, the Homecoming Court girls went inside of where the ‘Early Bird’ students go for early morning arrivals. We sat with them as they colored and answered questions that they had. After greeting the ‘Early Birds,’ we separated into groups of the grade levels. Layne Simon, Bella Rougeou, Garrett Yeates, Luke Curry, Noah Babineaux, and I were in front of the Kindergarten walkway and had fun greeting them on such a fun day!
Wednesday: Downtown Pep Rally
On Wednesday afternoon, during lunch, the football team and Homecoming Court were dismissed to head on over to the Downtown Campus. Once we all arrived downtown, we took plenty of pictures and got ready to walk out with our football player escorts. We were escorted, and then the Homecoming Court girls sat on the stage and watched the pep rally. The pep rally was so fun, and we had such a great time being able to be a part of that experience!
Thursday: High School Parade
On Thursday, we had the homecoming parade for the high school campus after school. It was such a fun event that had many different floats. We went through Sugar Mill Pond to the Ascension campus. There were floats for homecoming court, football, swim, dance team, cheer, and much more! It was beautiful weather with music and just a great experience for everyone. After the parade, it was the powderpuff championships! The Freshman and Juniors competed in the championships ending in a win for the Juniors.
Friday: The Game
On Friday, we ended a great homecoming week with the homecoming game. Our football team played against the Gueydan Bears. The homecoming court girls rode in our convertibles before the game, and then we all went and sat in our chairs on the field to watch the game. At halftime, all eight of the girls on the court were presented, and they crowned Queen and 1st Maid. Our 2024 1st Maid was Miss Addison Mills and our 2024 Queen was Miss Annie Boudreaux. The game then ended with a win with a score of 56-6!
