The Ascension Blue Gator volleyball team played one of their rivals last week, the Sacred Heart Saints. The game started off with high energy from our team, and they played well together. At the end of the fist set, Sacred Heart took the win. For the second set, we came in with even more high energy and wanted to win more than them and ended up winning it so now the score was tied with each team winning one set. The third set we began to get a bit tired but still played the best we could but ended up losing that set. The start of the fourth set we decided we were going to push through all the tiredness, and we worked so hard and ended up winning the set. So now the score is tied again with each team having two sets under their belts. The fifth and final set was the most important one of all for this game because this would either determine if we won or lost. It is also the shortest set, the first one to score fifteen wins. They had their cheerleaders screaming and cheering for their team to win so we had to be even louder and focus more with all that energy they brought. The set was close, point for point, but we ended up persevering and ended up winning. It was a long game, but it made the team stronger and gave us an amazing feeling for beating one of our rivals, especially because we did not do too well against them in a scrimmage earlier this season. It was a great game to experience.
