Senior Spotlight: Rylan Cabrera

Name: Rylan Cabrera

Grade started: Pre-K 3

Favorite teacher: Coach Whitt.

Favorite Ascension memory: Hanging out with his friends.

Future plans: He plans to go to ULM and become a pharmacist.

Rylan Cabrera has been at Ascension since Pre-K 3, and currently he is not involved in any sports, but he has been involved in HOSA. His favorite part about Ascension is the freedom that he gets in school compared to other schools in Lafayette. Rylan works at Chick-fil-A, so he does not get much free time, but he tries his best to get some spare time when he is not at work. A fun fact about Rylan is that he has a pet Husky. In three words, Rylan would describe himself as locked in, funny,  and efficient. Rylan’s advice to younger students is to follow their desires in life and if they do not enjoy doing something at school, then they should find another activity that they do enjoy and that can help them succeed in the future.

Hello, my name is Spencer Howat, and I am a junior this year at Ascension. I have been at Ascension since 7th grade, and this is my first year in Journalism. I am a part of the Ascension basketball and tennis team, and I am a part of the school's service organization, Gators for Others. Outside of Ascension, some of my favorite hobbies are reading and hanging out with my friends. I am excited to start writing about the various fun activities that go on at Ascension!
