Peyton has been a part of the football and track team since his freshman year. He has been a part of the leadership team all 5 years of high school. He has also been attending YoungLife weekly since his freshman year.
Peyton has been a part of the National Honor Society, National Beta Society, Rho Kappa Honor Society, National English Society, Science National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. He has also been a part of Critical Analysis of Film in the 21st Century, and Fitness Club while here at Ascension.
He was super excited for the Chili Cook-off. Last year, Peyton was in charge of setting everything up and making sure it went smoothly. This year, he was excited to have the chance to participate and be someone who is trying the chilis and not have the responsibility of being in charge.
Outside of school, Peyton enjoys hanging out with his friends and working out.
Peyton’s biggest mentor is his older brother. His brother showed him what it means to be balanced. While in high school, he played several sports and performed very well academically. He showed Peyton how to do well in school while still enjoying everything that high school had to offer. Peyton’s brother also told him to never take a moment for granted and because of that piece of advice, Peyton will cherish every moment he has.
Peyton’s favorite thing about Ascension is the faculty and student relationships. Teachers know how to make every student feel welcomed and heard in class and because of that, all the teachers are loved by the students. Getting to mess around and joke with his teachers while still respecting that teacher-student relationship is his favorite thing. It allows for class to be lighthearted and fun while also getting work done and learning new and engaging things.
Advice Peyton would give to the underclassmen is to get involved with the school. There are so many different opportunities waiting around every corner and once one passes it might not come back around. So do not miss out on the opportunities that are presented to you and make the most out of every situation. Go out and support the art shows, and the sporting events because they are all fun.
