Senior Spotlight: Porter McKnight

Name: Porter McKnight

Grade Started: Pre-K3

Favorite Teacher: Mr. Shome

Favorite Ascension Memory: Junior trip, when Mrs. Fournet gave us a noise complaint within the first 10 minutes.

Future Plans: To attend LSU and hopefully become a lawyer.

During Porter’s 15 years at Ascension, he was on the varsity football and basketball teams for most of his high school career. Porter is also a member of Young Life as well as the Beta Club and the National Honor Society. He says, “My favorite thing about Ascension is Study Hall.” 

In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends, working out, and doing homework. He thinks of himself as a very confident, sympathetic, and cunning person. A fun fact about Porter is that he has a twin brother.

Porter’s advice to the underclassmen is, “be nice.”

Hi friends! I'm Catheryn Simon, but my friends call me Camille, and I'm a Senior at Ascension. I've gone to Ascension for 14 years. I was on the Varsity Dance team at Ascension for 4 years, along with being a member of Cupcakes for Causes and SADD, and I am a Younglife participant. I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family, attending Church, dancing competitively, and shopping. This is my first year in Journalism, and I can't wait!
